The first generation of students receiving scholarships from Holzindustrie Schweighofer in the newly established vocational class at “Grigore Cobalcescu” Technical High-school in Moinesti had its first day of school. Filled with emotion, the 28 students from class IX K took part in the festivities organized by the High-school where they will learn the secrets of a trade: mechanic (14 of the students) or electrician (another 14 of those).
A completely renovated dorm has opened its doors for the students, with high quality materials, accessories and furniture. In the bright, comfortable rooms, the scholarship recipients will be able to study and rest, without the need for daily commute. Also from this fall, they will have a workshop equipped with modern instruments for completing their professional training, and they will spend time for practical training in the company’s production units. Above all these, they will receive scholarships supplementing state-sponsored grants with up to RON 700 a month, depending on their academic achievement. For the project, Holzindustrie Schweighofer has allocated EUR 280,000.
