The Schweighofer Prize awards innovative ideas, technologies, products and services so as to strengthen the competitiveness of the European forestry and timber industry. The prize was initiated by Gerald Schweighofer in 2003 and has since gained considerable international recognition. It is awarded every two years at a gala event in Vienna and has a total prize fund of €300,000.
Gerald Schweighofer: “Our family’s success is based on wood, which is why we wish to give something back to support innovative ideas around timber well into the future. The Schweighofer Prize will therefore continue to be the most important event, bringing together international industry and research experts in Vienna”.
