The ZOW 2012 with 671 exhibitors from 33 countries and 17.500 visitors was a great success.
Holzindustrie Schweighofer presented its entire range of products and the visitors were most interested in blockboards.
The fair was a great opportunity for personal meetings with customers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Apart from that interesting new contacts with Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, the Baltic states and Scandinavia were made.

At the Faculty of Forestry & Explotation of Forest at the University of Transylvania in Brasov 3 one-year sholarships were awarded, each worth 300 Euro/monthly. The future sholarship holder were determined in a competition where theoretical and practical skills were demanded.

The generous sponsoring of Holzindustrie Schweighofer Group in Romania for School No. 7 in Comanesti made possible replacement works for windows, heating pipes and radiators.

Holzindustrie Schweighofer donates college "Lucian Blaga" from Sebes/Romania a sum of EUR 140,353.04 for the renovation of the main building.

It was decided to build a second combined heat and power plant on biomass in Radauti. Construction will begin the last quater of 2011 and starting up will be in 2012.

Holzindustrie Schweighofer Sebes supports children's home Sf. Stefan in Saniob/Bihor county with 10 m3 timber for the construction of their warehouse.

The level of orders was beyond our expectations during the summer. As a result production capacity was expanded by placing into operation a third press, so that production increased by 45%.

The fire protection system in Comanesti is renewed through the establishment of a fire water reservoir, a pump station, an outer ring line and the connection to the existing internal fire hydrandts.

The acquisition of M-real Hallein by the Schweighofer Group is completed. On September 1, 2011 took place the Closing and thus the final transfer of ownership. In the future the enterprise in Hallein is named "Schweighofer Fiber". Details at press.

The demolition process of the 48 years old saw mill and annex buildings started in Comanesti. A new 6500 m2 hall with new core line equipment will replace the old construction.

The new pellet mill in Comanesti is finished and the production is running. First big bags were delivered last month.

The signing took place on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The new company within Schweighofer Group now focuses on the production of high quality pulp and bio energy. Within the forthcoming two years Schweighofer intends to invest about 60 Million Euro. Details at press.

For the 5th time the Schweighofer Prize was presented in Vienna. This unique European Innovation Award for the Forest-Based Sector awarded innovative wood-based solutions for energy efficient buildings and renewable energy with € 300.000. See more details at press.
