For more than three centuries, the Schweighofer family has been closely associated with wood processing. Acting on the strength of our history, we continue to develop innovative solutions and explore new markets.
Wood products by Schweighofer are in high demand in over 60 countries of the world. Exports account for more than 80% of our production. Employing a staff of about 2,000 people at four production sites in Romania, the company is the market leader in wood processing.
The company’s success in Romania is the product of recent years: the first Romanian sawmill of the Schweighofer Group was built in Sebes in 2002, followed by a second one in Radauti in 2007. Two years later, Schweighofer acquired the production site for laminated wood panels in Siret. The most recent acquisition was the block board plant in Comanesti in 2010.
The major advantages of the Romanian manufacturing locations are the availability of high quality raw material from sustainably managed forests, the well trained personnel, and the facilities of the international port of Constanta at the Black Sea. From Constanta our products can be shipped to customers worldwide.
